Rau Paenga - How we work

How we work

Infrastructure projects are complex and challenging. At Rau Paenga we manage risk and improve timeliness by efficiently delivering or supporting the delivery of Crown infrastructure projects.

Many Government agencies with infrastructure needs are not in the day-to-day business of delivering large construction projects.

Rather than set up an inhouse project team for a one-off build, and dabble in the complex construction sector, those agencies can partner with us at Rau Paenga – a specialist infrastructure delivery agency.

Formerly known as Ōtākaro Limited, the Government company that delivered infrastructure to support the post-quake regeneration of central Christchurch, our company has been renamed and repurposed to assist Government agencies to efficiently construct major new assets.

With almost $1bn of infrastructure delivery experience, we have expert project teams and robust project management processes.

Rau Paenga, means ‘many spaces’ and with staff in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, we are well placed to ensure the best infrastructure outcome for New Zealanders.

Our expertise

We’ve amassed an enormous amount of knowledge about delivering large and unique projects through times of labour constraints and supply chain volatility that can now be applied across Aotearoa.
