New Zealand’s first international-standard convention centre.
Te Pae is the Crown’s single biggest contribution to the regeneration of central Christchurch. The $450m facility has the capacity to host 2000 people or simultaneous smaller events. It features a 1400-seat auditorium, an expansive 2800m2 exhibition hall and 24 meeting rooms. Te Pae, which hosted its first events in April 2022 is owned and was delivered by Rau Paenga, when the company was formerly known as Ōtākaro.
